An original Walt Disney Production model sheet from 'The Lady and the Tramp', 1955.
At the forefront of cinematic history, Walt Disney's animated film 'The Lady and the Tramp' was the 15th film by Disney and was the first to use a pioneering new Cinemascope wide screen filming process. Its romantic story and animation has continued to warm the hearts of audiences decades later and has resulted in a sequel and live action adaptation. 'Trusty' is an old blood hound who is neighbour to the character 'Lady'. His soft southern accent and denial of losing his sense of smell in old age combines with the emotive animation and character design to create a truly adorable and warming character.
This authentic model sheet from the film's production would have been used by animators at Walt Disney Studios for the character of Trusty. Essential for maintaining consistent character appearance throughout many levels of production and protecting the secrets of Disney's cutting-edge animation, it is unsurprising that model sheets were prohibited from removal from Walt Disney Studios!
