Stay on trend with this supernatural artwork by Emma-Leone Palmer, taken from her Afterglow collection.
Spiralling across each of her large-scale works is a seemingly chaotic entanglement of neon wires, symbolising the complexity of our thoughts and the digital information we receive and process on a daily basis. Emma allows her subjects to interact organically with pliable lighting strips and neon wires before painting with a colour palette similar to that used for infrared photography.
Emma says: "I enjoyed using reds and oranges for this piece, instead of my usual cool tones. She's a warrior, looking up and forward. I love the femininity of her hair, and the colours flickering like flames. I have a seed of an idea, and it starts and changes how it wants to. A painting is finished when it starts looking back at you."
