To celebrate ten years of Nic Joly’s miniatures at Castle Fine Art, the artist is revisiting and remastering some of his, and his collectors’, most loved artworks. These two new pieces honour Nic’s pride in his work to date and herald the creative potential ahead of him.
Blending social commentary with playful charm, Nic explores challenging issues such as love and resilience in his artwork. By exploring thought provoking topics in such an accessible way, Nic has built a connection with his collectors over the course of his decade with Castle Fine Art.

Every piece of art that Nic Joly creates centres the idea of human connection. Using his miniatures to contemplate the intricacies of everyday life, Nic discusses big topics on a very small scale. This new collection explores the idea of consistently building and nurturing our own relationships and ambitions, as well as those of others.
The inspiration for ‘All You Need’ came during lockdown when Nic found a renewed sense of the importance of family. Highlighting the love and support we all gave and needed in those hard times, Nic encourages a sense of togetherness in those who view his work.

Featuring vibrant pops and explosions of colour, these new pieces embody Nic Joly’s optimism and sense of hope for the future. The bold neon letters of ‘All You Need’ give the piece an electric energy whilst the multicoloured balloons of ‘Life’s Secret’ symbolise boundless possibility. Nic uses colour to explore positive emotions around the text he centres in each piece.
Crafting his signature miniatures out of wire, paper and found objects, the artist uses intricate craftsmanship skills learnt in his past career as a furniture designer to create the tiny worlds that exist in each of his artworks. The figures within each piece appear to be constructing the words they surround, emphasising the importance of working on our own relationships and dreams every single day.
