A different kind of Christmas toy

With many of us gifting toys to those we love this Christmas, it's fantastic to highlight the good work being done by our Fine Art Collector contributor, Paintings in Hospitals (read more about them in our Spring 2018 issue here) The charity has teamed up with #ToyLikeMe for a touring exhibition which aims to spark a debate about how differently-abled children are represented in the media.

Toy Box Tales

Over 150 million diff:abled children worldwide are not visible in the magazines, newspapers and TV programmes we consume, but the project is working to change that.

Creative collective #ToyLikeMe has transformed well-known brands like Barbie, Marvel and Star Wars to give such children representation... including a Hulk with a diabetic line, a doll with a prosthetic leg and the world's first rollerblading doll with vitiligo!
