"My art is based on repertory theatre and the drama of real life," Joe Scarborough tells us after dropping by our gallery in Sheffield's bustling Meadowhall shopping centre. "I always want to put on a good show."
And he certainly pulls out all the stops with his new release - available online and at our Meadowhall, Derby and Nottingham galleries. The three hand-varnished, canvas on board artworks are inspired by scenes from the 1950s and 60s and feature Joe's signature four-inch figures.
Sheffield born and bred, Joe draws upon his time in the coal mines and the vibrant advertising posters of his childhood. His art - which incorporates aspects of Impressionism - has been exhibited at Museums Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University, and in 2008 he was awarded a star on Sheffield's 'Walk of Fame'.
Joining Castle as a guest artist is another accolade for Joe, who adds: "I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next!"
