If there's one thing we can count on during these turbulent times, it's our loved ones. This spring, give your special someone the gift of art with a hand-crafted 3D sculpture made in the London studio of Nic Joly.
The British sculptor's newest releases, 'All You Need' and 'Winning Streak', were inspired by the renewed importance of family during the COVID-19 lockdown. Highlighting the love we are lucky to experience during this difficult period, each piece features incredible detail, including miniature scaffolding, a dancing couple and a real playing card. Nic told us: "I'm a romantic at heart and I always have been - but it's having all the people you love around you during lockdown that has brought out this side of my work."

Made with love
With lockdown giving Nic an unprecedented amount of time, 'All You Need' truly became a labour of love. Over 40 layers of hand-dripped paint were applied to the wooden letters, while each set of scaffolding took up to four days to complete, including laser-cutting, gluing, spraying and painting.
For ‘Winning Streak’, Nic chose to use authentic playing cards, and now has over 100 packs of cards with the ace of hearts missing! He also used real dice to offset the individually hand-cut and painted clothes of his miniature figures. Not only does this piece aim to make us smile, but it also symbolises the luck inherent in love.
