This incredible original painting by John Myatt draws its inspiration from the work of two famous artists of history, Gustav Klimt and Amedeo Modigliani. Stylistically, the portrait showcases the modern style of Modigliani who was known for his surreal faces, necks and figures. John Myatt noted: "Everything is right about some of Modigliani's portraits - the line, the colour, and the composition and the subject, a demure red head. His was such a tragic story and his early death and riotous lifestyle gave him the kind of bohemian glamour that the newspapers love an artist to have - but these days his fame rests on his paintings - particularly his erotic nudes but he was a brilliant portraitist too".
On the other hand, this beautiful painting also draws inspiration from Gustav Klimt. Art history avid and world-renowned forger and artist John Myatt wrote: “This is a version of the central section of Klimt's Three Ages Of Woman - which is a beautiful and decorative work - although sad when you see all of it. I changed the hair colour of mother and child and reworked the decoration around the figures. It was a lot of fun to do"
Here, the distinct styles of two epochal artists has been harnessed and applied by world-famous art forger turned "Genuine Fakes" artist John Myatt. This majestic masterpiece is the perfect way to add a touch of art history to your home, complemented by a bespoke wooden frame. Read more about John Myatt's incredible story here.
