Vibrant colours appear to explode out and drip down the canvas of this powerful limited edition artwork by Robert Oxley. The traditional colours of a tiger are overthrown by exciting shades of green, pink, yellow- to name a few- that breathe life into the dark black background and create a majestic and powerful impression of nature.
Master of animal portraiture, Robert has returned with Triumph, a thrilling series featuring iconic wild animals in 2023. The collection features a lion, tiger and gorilla, all painted in Robert’s signature psychedelic style. Robert says he chose these animals “to portray a feeling of everlasting celebration and the feeling of comfort that these majestic apex animals share the world with us”.

As a child, Robert Oxley spent his hours roaming the forests around a north-east coalmining village, dreaming of becoming a zookeeper. Today, the lions, tigers and elephants who roamed his imagination are given life in his dazzling wildlife paintings. Immersing himself in pop surrealism, Oxley presents viewers with what he calls “psychedelic natural history”.
Oxley’s affinity with nature is evident in every instinctive brushstroke. He began his art career by painting his school friend’s denim jackets with the logos of their favourite heavy metal bands. This rock ‘n’ roll ethos can be seen in his art, with its loose paintwork and free attitude, which makes it so popular with his many collectors.
In 1995, we opened our first-ever gallery in Stratford-upon-Avon. With just one goal in mind - to make our art accessible to all - our fledgling company began to spread its roots.
Every piece of art is mounted, glazed or framed by hand, with our bespoke framing service selected by our creative department.
Our foundations are built on a passion for art, and many of our staff (and collectors!) have been with us from the very beginning.
