One of the most exciting female artists in the UK today, Scarlett Raven’s recognised for the emotional intensity and heavy texture in landscape originals that standout in any collection.
For every artwork sold from Raven's new collection, 10% of the sale will be donated to Mind, a charity close to her heart for its crucial role in supporting and advocating for better mental health services. By opening up about her experience, and donating in aid of Mind, Raven hopes to inspire a future where those experiencing mental health issues are better understood, accepted, and met with compassion, understanding and support.
Raven has long explored the depths of human emotion through her vividly coloured and textured artworks, finding solace and a healthy outlet during her darkest times in her incredibly tactile methods and uplifting floral canvases. Following a nervous breakdown in December 2023, which led to the diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), the tactile nature of building her textured canvases became a source of comfort and grounding, anchoring her to the present moment and providing a sense of purpose and direction. A testament to the power of creativity as a catalyst for healing and self-discovery, the Beyond The Surface collection was born during an incredibly challenging period. Through the multisensory experience of creating her new collection of artworks she started to reclaim her agency and begin to forge a path towards healing.
The flowers, symbols of beauty, growth, and renewal resonate deeply with her, serving as beacons of hope amidst the darkness, also express her connection to impressionists such as Vincent Van Gough. The beautiful serene and contemporary white compositions are still full of movement as the artist told us: “The flowers needed to feel free, you needed to feel the wind they are dancing in” inviting viewers to project themselves on the heavily textured paintings, creating a pure source of comfort and grounding, anchoring them to the present moment.
"The paintings have been broken down by absence of colour. When in fact they are more confident than ever. They are louder than ever." - Scarlett Raven
The new white canvas artworks stand as testaments to the enduring power of the human spirit to overcome adversity and find beauty in the midst of chaos. Channelling her recovery into art, Raven not only found solace and healing in the act of painting but also transformed an incredibly dark time into something light, beautiful and meaningful. This collection stands testament to her resilience, creativity, and the transformative power of art.
“It’s my love of painting and observing nature that has held me together all this time and to combine it with the rawness and directness of abstract impressionism, in all white, feels like I’ve come full circle.”

Scarlett Raven is a contemporary British impressionist whose work is widely recognized for its emotional intensity and heavy texture. Through bold colour, dramatic paint application and vivid scenery, her textured landscape paintings have positioned her as one of the most exciting female impressionists in the UK today. With stylistic influences from Vincent van Gogh, Anselm Kiefer, Gustav Klimt and David Hockney, her emotive works are inspired by her deep personal connection with nature.
