Drawing inspiration from the transformative journey of nature trough the seasons, 'Bowing Daffodils' is an expressive, vibrant original artwork portraying a flower’s delicate yet resilient beauty.
Part of Scarlett Raven’s 2024 collection which grew into an exploration of bold, dynamic colours, the artist balances three harmoniously contrasting colours, breathing life into the painting while imbuing the canvas with visual vibrancy.
Scarlett Raven’s exploration of colour theory brings an emotive depth to this piece, where hues interact harmoniously to capture the raw, organic beauty of a flower garden in full bloom.
Raven’s connection with nature is deeply personal, reflected in the painstaking care taken to study the flowers in her own garden. By gardening and nurturing her plans, Scarlett observes their delicate resilient beauty, reproducing these qualities in her textured paintings.
By infusing modern sensibility, the artwork challenges the traditional interpretations of floral still life - embracing the struggle, the imperfections and the inherent beauty found within the cycle of growth in nature.
A celebration of the profound connection we share with the living world around us and of nature’s dignity and resilience, this artwork is a testament to the beauty that can be found even in the struggle and that every petal and leaf has a purpose, striving towards the light.
“Maybe these paintings are more like an opera. An opera of colour.”

Scarlett Raven is a contemporary British impressionist whose work is widely recognized for its emotional intensity and heavy texture. Through bold colour, dramatic paint application and vivid scenery, her textured landscape paintings have positioned her as one of the most exciting female impressionists in the UK today. With stylistic influences from Vincent van Gogh, Anselm Kiefer, Gustav Klimt and David Hockney, her emotive works are inspired by her deep personal connection with nature.
In 1995, we opened our first-ever gallery in Stratford-upon-Avon. With just one goal in mind - to make our art accessible to all - our fledgling company began to spread its roots.
Every piece of art is mounted, glazed or framed by hand, with our bespoke framing service selected by our creative department.
Our foundations are built on a passion for art, and many of our staff (and collectors!) have been with us from the very beginning.
