Showcased as part of his debut collection with Castle Fine Art, ‘Poor Little Greenie (3)’ sees the artist reflect on his image and identity as ‘Boy George’.
Stripping away any adornments and accessories, we see a powerful image of Boy George’s signature scarman figure, looking wild with scowling brows and a sweet smile. These added facial features represent the characterisation of Boy George and the iconic image the public has come to expect. Featuring the words ‘WE ARE NEVER ALONE’ hand-written in the border, the scarman represents us all, healing the scars of our own emotional wounds and tough experiences. The title is taken from a lyric in Bowie’s track ‘The Jean Genie’, an homage to America’s finest creatives.
Boy George’s extraordinary collection of mixed media original and unique artworks are a sight to behold. Portraying a host of known and unknown icons, they explore themes of identity, transformation and judgement. A true maximalist, no material is off limits, resulting in visual feasts that pour out of the frame.

Boy George is a pure creative. For him, art is everything.
Influenced by people from his past and present, and visions in nature and architecture, his art is quintessentially Boy George – loud, vivid, punk, iconic. Sometimes representing a specific person, sometimes representing us all, each piece tells a story. A story that we must discover for ourselves.
In 1995, we opened our first-ever gallery in Stratford-upon-Avon. With just one goal in mind - to make our art accessible to all - our fledgling company began to spread its roots.
Every piece of art is mounted, glazed or framed by hand, with our bespoke framing service selected by our creative department.
Our foundations are built on a passion for art, and many of our staff (and collectors!) have been with us from the very beginning.
