If your childhood was spent reading comic books, watching cartoons and creating your favourite LEGO characters, you will love the debut collection from artist John McCormack. The American painter spent 17 years working for LEGO and now creates nostalgic mixed media artworks featuring some of the world’s best-loved characters.
While working at LEGO, John made over 70 TV commercials and helped to create their first-ever CGI cartoon, Revenge of the Brick, which aired on Cartoon Network.
His art is inspired by shapes, patterns and colours, combining acrylic paint and pencil lines with cartoon characters like Bart Simpson and Charlie Brown. He adds: "I was always fascinated by the act of painting and the process behind it. It's about giving it emotion."
