In June 1983, the film ‘Return of The Jedi’ was released, the third instalment of George Lucas’ ‘Star Wars’ series of motion pictures. The film was originally to be titled “Revenge of the Jedi” before George Lucas changed it to “Return of the Jedi” as a true Jedi should never seek revenge. “Revenge of the Jedi - The Lost Script” consists of 105 pieces, bringing the script of ‘Revenge of the Jedi’ to life. Robert Bailey has created unique pencil drawings which are paired together with a page from the original movie script. These pieces have been placed in a black mount to enhance the original script and Bailey’s artwork, and museum glass has been chosen to showcase the detail due to its clarity and reflection control properties.
Each drawing created by Robert captures the essence of the iconic scene and allows collectors to own a real piece of Star Wars history. In this amazing collection of artworks Robert Bailey has created one special drawing to cherish the events and hang besides, each page of a genuine script. View more pieces of this collection here.
George Lucas, Star Wars creator, first noticed Bailey’s incredible talent for using pencil on paper and invited the artist to work on Star Wars Visions – which saw 30 artists create their own interpretations of characters and scenes. As a licensed Marvel artist, Robert captures the iconic scenes through different tones of delicate graphite and states that “Only by the practice can the dexterity of fine pencil work be kept up”. Throughout his career he has depicted iconic Spider-Man and Avengers scenes as well as created a range of artworks inspired by TV shows Star Trek and The Incredible Hulk. Robert Bailey brings this historic medium into the contemporary consciousness; harnessing its innate monochromatic quality to create dark, focused and detailed artworks.
You can harness the boldness of both Star Wars and Robert Bailey's medium in your home with one of these original artworks. From unforgettable characters and scenes, to sets and moments that have changed cinematic history, Robert's captivating drawings stretch across the galaxy. Shop more Robert Bailey's artwork here.

Pencil artist Robert delights fans across the globe with his amazingly detailed Star Wars drawings and commissions of scenes from classic films. Even George Lucas has added them to his collection! Collectors of his Star Wars pieces include Harrison Ford, John Travolta, Tom Cruise, and the late Carrie Fisher. Robert’s art uses a method called hatching, whereby his closely-drawn parallel lines imply shade, tone and texture. The distance between the hatching marks determine how light or dark that area appears. Robert says about his art: “Only by practice can the dexterity of fine pencil work be kept up."
