Hamish Blakely was the guest of honour at the launch of our Chester gallery. Boasting 3,705 sq ft of beautiful retail space, the outlet is the ideal setting for our stunning art. Taking pride of place was Hamish's new set of paintings, inspired by the power of the female form.
"The collection celebrates that mystifying blend of feminine beauty and strength," he explains. "While loyal to that enduring genre of the celebrated nude and venerated goddess in art, it explores the majesty of a woman's presence."

The artist explains: "It is only in the last 5000 years that men made God a man. Carl Jung, the Swiss psychoanalyst, said that during the Stone Age women were revered and worshipped. I think it's time for things to change back."
