This contemporary artwork is inspired by 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa' (also known as 'The Great Wave' and 'The Wave') by the Japanese artist Hokusai. Originally published some time between 1829 and 1833, this woodblock print has been given a modern twist using a complex algorithm.
Completely self-taught, Alex's career highlights have included creating fabric designs for fashion designer Paul Smith and a bespoke guitar for Eric Clapton. A harmony of colour, light, movement and emotion, his paintings depict a striking visual narrative that lifts the spirit of the viewer.
Alex says: "I follow in the footsteps of Gerhard Richter, David Hockney, Man Ray, Andy Warhol, Cy Twombly, Robert Rauschenberg to name only a few who have explored and experimented with new directions, possibilities and methods of artistic expression."

In 1995, we opened our first-ever gallery in Stratford-upon-Avon. With just one goal in mind - to make our art accessible to all - our fledgling company began to spread its roots.
Every piece of art is mounted, glazed or framed by hand, with our bespoke framing service selected by our creative department.
Our foundations are built on a passion for art, and many of our staff (and collectors!) have been with us from the very beginning.
Our dedicated team of art consultants is on hand to offer you tailored advice.
