The painter, whose art appeared in a January 2021 episode of Channel 4's Grand Designs, took inspiration from natural history and medieval legend for these hand-varnished artworks. To mirror the 2D effect of Robert's original artworks, our specialist atelier team carefully reimagined the painting using state-of-the-art techniques. The canvas is 100% cotton, creating a premium, high-definition effect, while the high-gloss acrylic giclée varnish offers a great depth of colour and extra UV protection.
Following the popularity of the first release, Robert followed this collection up with The Dark Knights - Heart of Darkness in August 2021, which you can shop below.
With magazines like Homes & Gardens naming global influences as one of the season's biggest trends, the collection is a stylish exploration of some of the world's most exciting locations. From the Amazon River to Tanzania, Robert's majestic predators create a feeling of wanderlust that can help viewers escape to somewhere beautiful.
Hand-finished by our specialist atelier team, the boxed canvas prints can be mixed and matched with houseplants and textures for a rustic aesthetic, or with modern furniture for a more contemporary look.
Featured art (L-R): 'Calathea' (sold out), 'Jatupo', 'Rufiji'.
"I wanted to show my cats as neither good nor bad...as a stealthy power that lurks in the shadows, ready to strike its prey."Robert Oxley
