Paul Corfield’s artworks feel like a warm embrace welcoming the viewer home. His new collection positions the viewer at the end of a lane leading to Corfield’s signature small white house. Corfield’s love of his home is apparent in these new pieces- in the costal landscapes and the house that is representative of his own. Warm, golden light infiltrates each of the landscapes, giving them a comforting glow.
The artist often features turquoise waters, delicately painted flowers, and dream-like waterfalls in his paintings. Offering a feeling of tranquillity, Corfield’s paintings provide the viewer with a sense of calm – a window into the idyllic destinations featured in his work. The artist enjoys how strongly people connect with his work and takes pleasure in the idea of his artworks hanging in other people’s homes. He hopes they are hung somewhere the light changes throughout the day, bringing the paintings to life.

Always trying to expand his artistic skillset, Paul Corfield sets himself a new challenge with every collection he creates. Recently inspired by the works of Titian, Giorgione and Rembrandt, Corfield combines a range of techniques borrowed from great artists of the past to create his artwork. He considers each element of his paintings individually, selecting the technique that would best express how he wants that part of the piece to look.
Starting with a small sketch, the final painting comes to life in the artist’s mind. All the locations come straight from Corfield’s imagination but are often inspired by his home in Devon. Although he has changed something about his working methods in every collection he has created, his own distinctive style shines through, giving all his paintings the same charm and cosy feeling.
