We unveiled Billy Connolly's latest Born on a Rainy Day sculptures 'Two for the Road' and 'Direction', plus the new 'Two for the Road - Rambling Man' limited edition giclées at selected galleries across the country, and they proved a massive hit. Guests were able to enjoy a huge selection of Billy's art and enjoy his company via video from his Florida home.
The new limited series of uniquely coloured editions, each with it’s own different colour, are inspired by Billy’s days as a gigging folk singer and the whole folk music scene of the 1960’s, showing our two heroes in full swing are now available! Billy Connolly's latest Born on a Rainy Day collection of sculptures and a limited edition giclée was launched at a series of events at our galleries nationwide to huge acclaim. The exclusive, invitation-only gatherings saw collectors gather to chat, enjoy a huge selection of Billy's art and to be joined by him via video from his Florida home to answer questions from admirers.
It was an incredibly special evening, especially as Billy's latest book, Rambling Man - My Life on the Road, had topped the Sunday Times bestsellers chart, and in a recent interview with The Times, Billy said: "Art has made my life magical at a time when I thought it would be unbearable,” talking about living with Parkinson's. “My disease creeps up on me — every day it gets stranger and more different. I don’t know how I would have coped without drawing. It’s taken me out of the scene and put me somewhere else, where I can survey it from a different angle.”
