As a time-limited edition, Johnny Depp "Five" was available to purchase for 13 days only, between 3pm (GMT) on the 20th July and midnight (GMT) 1st August – The edition is now closed and the sale for this product has now ended. The number of editions produced was limited by demand during this time.
Hand-signed by Johnny Depp, each artwork was made to order, uniquely numbered, and emboss stamped by hand with Johnny's personal mark of authenticity, The Bunnyman.
This image captures the emotional exhaustion Johnny was feeling when he completed the artwork in 2021, as he was about to enter the fifth year of a very difficult period of his life. He added the “five” tally-mark annotation in recognition of this moment in time.
The original reference for the art is a still from a shoot for Dior’s ‘Sauvage’, directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino. Johnny chose this particular image in honour of Dior and the loyalty they’ve always shown him. To Johnny, the image symbolizes the importance of truth and the steadfast support of those who remain close to you during challenging times.
"If the piece resonates with even just one person, this art has purpose." - Johnny Depp.
Traditionally being seen as the form in which many artists have come to be remembered by, self-portraits offer insights not only into the artist’s life, surroundings and artistic ideas but also into their state of mind. When creating a self-portrait, the artist represents his psychological features as well as his emotions, bringing out a feeling that allows the viewer to see the subject’s character. The feeling the art expresses gains a new meaning, acting as a mirror, and a window to give thought to our own mental health and the health of those around us. In turn, for every print sold, $200 will go directly to Mental Health America, a leading community-based non-profit charity dedicated to the promotion of mental health, well-being and illness prevention. An organisation which Johnny describes as “a wonderful facility and an extremely deserving cause; they do a lot of great work there".
Exclusively available from Castle Fine Art.
Photographic reference: Nathanial Goldberg

Who is Nathanial Goldberg?
Nathanial Goldberg is the photographer who shot the Dior ‘Sauvage’ image under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Mondino.
For Johnny Depp, there has always been art. Before acting, and before music, art has always been an important outlet for his creativity. With his sketchbook as a permanent fixture in his hand, Depp is constantly sketching or visually conceptualising the world around him. His mind rejects the ordinary, challenges the accepted and oscillates between the pictorial and the lyrical, giving rise to his own multi-layered expressionistic style.
Depp has produced four collections for Castle Fine Art; two of his Friends & Heroes series featuring iconic artists he knew well, including Bob Dylan, Elizabeth Taylor, Bob Marley and River Phoenix, followed by his self-portrait Five, a time-limited edition piece which was available to collectors for only 13 days. His latest release is Bunnyman Genesis, four pieces which represent Depp’s personal motif of The Bunnyman.
In 1995, we opened our first-ever gallery in Stratford-upon-Avon. With just one goal in mind - to make our art accessible to all - our fledgling company began to spread its roots.
Every piece of art is mounted, glazed or framed by hand, with our bespoke framing service selected by our creative department.
Our foundations are built on a passion for art, and many of our staff (and collectors!) have been with us from the very beginning.
