Whilst on tour in Canada in 2007, Billy was inspired by Montreal’s drizzling rain to buy some felt-tip pens and a sketchbook. Over time, his drawings of little islands became intricate yet honest shapes – and Born On A Rainy Day began.
The first-ever sculpture from the collection was inspired by Billy's past as a welder on Glaswegian dockyards. His signature inscribed onto the inside of the detailed wing, the sculpture was a sensation. Since then, Billy's collection of art has grown and he has revisited this first leap into sculptural form with a monumental sculpture interpretation of 'And On Monday, God Made The World'. Due to the sculpture's size and weight, we can arrange delivery and installation. Enquire about this sculpture to find out more.

Devoid of emotion or expression, their anonymity opens them up to individual interpretation, creating a unique bond with the viewer.
Featured by The Times and documentaries including Billy Connolly: It's Been a Pleasure, his minimalist drawings have been described as 'poignant', 'funny' and 'enigmatic' by critics.
