The artistic duo is back by popular demand with the latest in their Impossimal drinks series: 'The Shaker Maker', featuring their own twist on a menu of the classic cocktails we all know and love. The Shaker Maker sees the Impossimals bring out in glorious bold colour the fun we know and love, coupled with a bit of Dutch Courage and remind us to find the humour in life, ourselves, and the times we share with friends and family!
In a traditional still-life composition creating a visually appealing and balanced image, “The Pour Relations” is vignetted by a classic and simple black background. The bold colour is incredibly punchy, completely focussing the attention on the tantalising tipple and scene at hand. Ever a fine artist, the piece has been painted in vivid oil paint with the incredible craftsmanship we have come to expect from skilled still-life painter, Peter Smith.
Using traditional materials and techniques, the new originals are created in rich, vibrant oil colour and texture achieving a realistic and nuanced finish. With an incredible amount of preparation in the studio before an original is painted, Peter often crafts his paintings in 3D by hand allowing him to honour the artform of still life painting and explore the interplay of light, form, colour, and texture in a controlled and creative way. With the Impossimal humour in every piece, everyone can find a little bit of themselves in this new collection.
Contemporary and vibrant, Peter and Jayne continue to explore new concepts within the genre, often pushing the boundaries of traditional still life with their unbridled creativity and humour. Find out more about this collection here or shop more art here.
