The original oil painting behind his signed limited edition 'A Godawful Small Affair', this unique artwork takes its inspiration from the lyrics of David Bowie's song 'Life On Mars?'.

Stuart wrote: " 'A small Affair' can relate to different things depending on how we translate these words and this becomes true to practically every instance which we are faced with. Bowies alter ego suggests both the positive and negative as well as revealing the 'Split Personality', hiding behind the facade of an imagined character. The imagery, like Bowies' lyrics are confused and indulged, suggesting the powerful creative imagination that was Bowie.”

Paying homage to his favourite musical idols, Stuart also wanted reveal the many sides of the individual behind their artform in hisLost Lives  collection; using his distinct style of overlapping graphic and photographic iconography that has seen his work featured in many prestigious institutions including The Savoy, London (read more here).
