Just as we want to get to know our collectors, we'd also like you to get to know us. We caught up with our online sales manager Lucinda Moyne to find out more about a typical day in the Castle Fine Art online team. This friendly team is on hand to help you find your perfect artwork, reveal pieces that aren't listed online and answer any queries you might have about your online purchase.
We'd love to keep in touch! Why not attend talk to an art consultant or create an online account? You can also be in with the chance of winning £100 off your next order by entering our #YourWorldOurArt competition.
How did you end up at Castle Fine Art?
I worked in hospitality for 10 years, including managing a pub in Birmingham for 18 months. Eventually, I felt it was time to move on and I joined as an online art consultant in 2016 - working as part of a team of three. Since then, our team has grown and our website has become a vital tool for our buyers. Many of our loyal customers make their purchases online and we have collectors all around the world.
What's your daily routine?
I'll usually get up at around 6:30am, and start every morning by checking my emails. I typically work from 9am to 5.30pm, but if we have a big launch I'll work until around 8pm. The first thing I do is distribute tasks to my team and check online orders from the previous day.
Why is having a close-knit team important?
There's never a dull moment in the office! From the daily pop quiz to a horn sounding every time we hit an objective (plus an ongoing debate about the correct way to make a Pot Noodle), healthy competition is rife. We're a very social team, and we're always on the lookout for the right talent.
How do you unwind at the end of the day?
My husband Shane is a chef on a private yacht, so when he's at home we like to spend as much time together as we can - often with our pet parrot, Frankie.
Why has the online team been so successful?
Expanding the team has had a huge impact and our new website has some great features - including the ability to 'heart' your favourite pieces - which helps people to add artworks to their collection as easily as possible. Being a part of this growth has been amazing; it makes me feel so lucky that I joined when I did. Moving forward, we want to continue to grow but also keep that family feel - we never want to become too corporate.
What's the best thing about your job?
My favourite thing about working for Castle has to be the incredible artists and art I get to work with every day. I love the variety of my job and no two days are ever the same - you never know when the phone will ring or what will happen. One of the most rewarding aspects of the role is helping people add special pieces to their collection. I wake up happy to go to work and excited to see what the day brings.
"It's always such a great feeling when a customer emails to say they've received their artwork and shares photos of it taking pride of place in their collection."Lucinda Moyne
