This beautiful scene captures Lawrence's mastery of the British countryside. A giclée is a printing process which creates a richness, accuracy and depth of colour through microscopic dots of pigment-based ink, ensuring the fidelity of the print to the original artwork.
Lawrence begins his paintings with a simple pencil line to denote the horizon before mentally mapping out the rest of the composition. Following this, he applies oil paint before blending it with his fingers and then again with a fine brush.
He says: “People tell me they buy my art for an escape. They are trapped in offices or away from nature, and if I can transport them somewhere else, even briefly, then I've done my job.”

Since joining our publisher in 1999, Lawrence has captivated audiences with his emotive landscapes, transporting viewers to serene vistas and inviting them to explore the beauty of the British countryside. Although he has experimented with new techniques and colour palettes, his style is instantly recognisable, evoking the calm and beauty of nature in each brushstroke.
Inspired by his local landscape, Lawrence's evocative paintings illustrate the power of nature. Fields, coastlines, woods and winding pathways are captured in exquisite detail, with the artist also rendering the beauty of natural phenomena such as sunrises, lightning, snow and fog.
Join us in commemorating 25 Years of Contemporary British Landscape as we celebrate Lawrence Coulson's remarkable journey with Castle Fine Art. Infused with a sense of nostalgia and wonder, this collection features breathtaking pieces inspired by locations such as Cornwall, Scotland, and Lincolnshire, and showcases Lawrence’s profound connection to nature and his ability to evoke mood and atmosphere.
In 1995, we opened our first-ever gallery in Stratford-upon-Avon. With just one goal in mind - to make our art accessible to all - our fledgling company began to spread its roots.
Every piece of art is mounted, glazed or framed by hand, with our bespoke framing service selected by our creative department.
