Featuring small figures in the distance, Lawrence adds a sense of scale that amplifies the impact of this artworks, drawing viewers in to connect on a more intimate level.
Focused on creating landscapes that evoke a sense of mood and atmosphere, Coulson explores both secluded woodland retreats and the bright hues of sunrises with his delicate painting style. A special focus on light and colour was placed in this artwork to enhance the scale of the expansive horizons painted by the British artist. Featuring small figures in the distance, Lawrence adds a sense of scale that amplifies the impact of this artwork, drawing viewers in to connect on a more intimate level.
Given Castle Fine Art's expertise as UK's leading art retailer, we are committed to the highest standards specially regarding printing. Derived from the French term 'gicler’, the term describes a printing process whereby microscopic dots of pigment-based ink are sprayed onto archival-quality paper to ensure the fidelity of a limited edition to an original artwork. It is believed that a giclée will significantly outlast a lithographic print, keeping its vivid colour for up to 200 years.
Since joining our publisher in 1999, Lawrence has captivated audiences with his emotive landscapes, transporting viewers to serene vistas and inviting them to explore the beauty of the British countryside. Although he has experimented with new techniques and colour palettes, his style is instantly recognisable, evoking the calm and beauty of nature in each brushstroke.
Inspired by his local landscape, Lawrence's evocative paintings illustrate the power of nature. Fields, coastlines, woods and winding pathways are captured in exquisite detail, with the artist also rendering the beauty of natural phenomena such as sunrises, lightning, snow and fog.
Join us in commemorating 25 Years of Contemporary British Landscape as we celebrate Lawrence Coulson's remarkable journey with Castle Fine Art. Infused with a sense of nostalgia and wonder, this collection features breathtaking pieces inspired by locations such as Cornwall, Scotland, and Lincolnshire, and showcases Lawrence’s profound connection to nature and his ability to evoke mood and atmosphere.
In 1995, we opened our first-ever gallery in Stratford-upon-Avon. With just one goal in mind - to make our art accessible to all - our fledgling company began to spread its roots.
Every piece of art is mounted, glazed or framed by hand, with our bespoke framing service selected by our creative department.
Our foundations are built on a passion for art, and many of our staff (and collectors!) have been with us from the very beginning.
