Created by Walt Disney in 1934, Donald Duck is one of the most known and loved cartoon characters of all time. He has been in more films than any other Disney character and Donald even has his own star on the Hollywood walk of fame.
This original production cel from the 1950s features Donald in an unusal happy expression holding a camera surrounded by beautifully coloured trees and pastures. The cel or celluloid would have been used in the original production process after an animators' original drawing was traced onto a sheet of transparent plastic and hand-painted in colour. It would have then been projected in front of a hand-painted background via a multiplane camera to create a minute yet crucial movement in the final film.
