Where will this woman travel to with her paper bags filled with bread? This vintage-style tableau illustrates the British painter's gift for capturing his figures' stories, giving his viewer something new to explore every time. The small-scale piece can be mixed and matched or make a statement on its own.
Nigel's influences include Walker Sickert, Edouard Vuillard and James Whistler, and he considers his work a form of social realism.
He explains: “I’d describe it as small narrative vignettes – or painting versions of film stills – which capture intimate moments in time and observations of life, from the mundane to the profound.”
