A visual reflection on his travels in Japan, China, Vietnam and Korea, The Asia Series by Bob Dylan was unlike anything we had released before.
The four hand-signed limited edition graphics depict beautiful scenes of people, interiors, architecture and landscapes. Dylan drew upon a variety of source material, from observational sketches to archival film and photography. Executed in muted, evocative colours, his paintings follows the order of natural reality; in the artist’s words, ‘the idea is to keep everything where it should be’.
Thanks to our relationship with Halcyon Gallery, we are fortunate to also have access to an extremely limited number of original artworks by Dylan, which is a rare honour. Please get in touch to discuss this opportunity with an art consultant.
The February 2021 release of The Asia Series coincided with the tour of Dylan’s first major museum retrospective across Asia. Spanning six decades of Dylan's artistic career, Retrospectrum at the Modern Art Museum (MAM) Shanghai featured more than 250 paintings and drawings, including works from his Mondo Scripto, Train Tracks and The Drawn Blank Series collections.
Our stunning hardback book captures the artworks from the touring exhibition, which moved to the Frost Art Museum in Miami after touring in Beijing and Shenzhen.
Speaking on the exhibition, Dylan says: "Seeing many of my works years after I completed them is a fascinating experience. I don't really associate them with any particular time or place or state of mind, but view them as part of a long arc."
