Castle Fine Art is proud to announce a brand-new collection by the groundbreaking contemporary oil on glass painter Richard Rowan. Following the success of Rowan’s debut unique collection Forever More and due to the rarity of his extremely sought after original works, Rowan and Castle Fine Art have worked together to provide a brand new stunning mixed media artwork collection, Journey Beyond.
The collection spans from sunrises to sunsets, from the mesmerizing night auroras to the tranquil 'silver rivers' (Milky Way), all under majestic cloud formations with each moment offering a new weather pattern and view.
Portraying moments of reflection and contemplation, Journey Beyond captures the beauty of different times of day while emphasizing the enduring essence of adventure. While working on this collection, Rowan listened to Tony Anderson's album "The Heart Of Man” which profoundly influenced the ambiance of the artworks.

Produced as a premium giclée, Rowan’s silhouetted foreground has been reverse printed onto glass in layers, perfectly reflecting the incredible techniques used in his original artwork. In his London studio, Rowan has then meticulously hand painted each vista using his reverse painted layering technique. This often involves applying several coats of paint, removing them and building in complex blended layers to create a completely unique image with incredible depth and photorealism.
Each of Richard's original and unique artworks includes a transparent viewing panel to allow collectors to see the detailed process behind their creation. The result is a collection of completely unique, hand-painted, mixed media artworks which trail a beautiful spectrum of times of day, climates and natural spectacles.

From animals in formaldehyde to COVID antigen tests, artists have used weird and wonderful materials to create art throughout history. Ancient civilisations would adorn themselves with animal bones, and many modern artists are incorporating recycled materials into their work to support environmentalism.
Nature's endless beauty is captured in a new edition of Richard Rowan's Infinite collection with two new monochrome works depicting the Milky Way.

The perils of fast fashion are well-documented, and now collectors are turning their attention to the quality and longevity of art they're buying. To celebrate Earth Day 2024, we look at the connection between the art world and the environment.
Our monthly series of art insights is brought to you by Washington Green Fine Art’s founder, Glyn Washington. In February 2022, we went behind the scenes with the celebrated glass painter to celebrate his new collection.
