After he impressed Her Majesty earlier this year, it is an honour to give a royal welcome to our guest artist, Illuminati Neon (aka Mark Sloper). The contemporary artist - whose work is collected by Sir Elton John, Boy George and Sting - exhibited his punk-inspired artworks at our St Christopher's Place gallery in October 2020.
In September, Mark was featured by the press when his punk portrait of Queen Elizabeth II received the royal approval from none other than the Queen herself! The matriarch is said to have enjoyed the artwork, but requested that her 'Philip' heart tattoo be changed to the royal crest - and Mark dutifully obliged.

Former videographer and friend to the stars Mark draws on the cultural vibes of West London. Influenced by the punk movement of the 1970s and 80s, his fluorescent creations are just as anarchical as their namesake.
Featuring punk-inspired imagery emblazoned with familiar lyrics and the language of the subculture, his hand-painted original artworks often incorporate jewels or artefacts and memorabilia from the era, including flags and t-shirts.
True to his punk rock roots, Mark combines montage, typography, graphic art and handblown glass neon to channel not just his own narrative but the chorus and chaos of a generation.
"Punk messages underwrite the neon to create statements that make you smile, laugh and think."Illuminati Neon
