Community Giving

The transformative power of art goes way beyond the wall on which it hangs – it is a force for good.

We’re dedicated to inspiring, uplifting and creating lasting change through art. That’s why we work closely with our artists, clients and galleries across the UK to help causes that matter most to our communities.

Through donations, fundraising, and sponsorships, we proudly support a range of fantastic charities.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital

Birmingham Children’s Hospital is a leading, specialist paediatric centre, delivering some of the most advanced treatments, complex surgical procedures and cutting-edge research to over 100,000 children and young people from across the UK and beyond.

We have supported the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity and its incredible work for nearly a decade. From competing in its annual Dragon Boat Race to gifting a 14ft-tall balloon dog sculpture by Whatshisname, our employees and artists regularly come together in aid of the charity.

"I’m honoured to have one of my sculptures outside Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where I hope it will bring a little bit of happiness to those visiting. I hope the playful nature of my balloon dog will brighten the day of every little patient." - Whatshisname, AKA Sebastian Burdon

Jon Jones’ Hill Street mural

Since March 2022, Jon Jones’ immense 50-metre installation on Hill Street outside Birmingham New Street station has raised money for Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity. Featuring various characters from the award-winning BBC drama, Peaky Blinders, Castle Fine Art donates £1 for every image of the mural that @castlefineart is tagged in on Instagram with the hashtag #Brum4BCH.

Mark Brider, Chief Executive of Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We’re incredibly thankful to our great friends at Castle Fine Art and Central BID Birmingham for supporting us in this unique way. Jon Jones’ portrayal of Birmingham’s infamous gangsters is visually stunning and we’d urge everyone to come and see his artwork next time they’re in the city centre.”

And Jon Jones isn’t the only artist depicting the notorious Shelby brothers for a good cause. Steve Winterburn’s fine bronze sculpture, ‘Red Right Hand’ transports viewers back to the dark iconography of the much-loved series and, for each sale of this artwork, a donation is made to Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

Inspiring Spaces Appeal

We’re supporting the hospital’s £170,000 Inspiring Spaces Appeal, which will use the power of art to create colourful, creative and inspiring spaces within Parkview, its youth mental health facility, to improve wellbeing and aid recovery.

We kicked off the appeal with a £5,000 donation, plus we’ll be donating a percentage from each sale of Jon Jones and Shazia signed limited editions between now and March 2026.

“This project is an important and powerful testimony to the transformative impact of art. As one of our key charity partners, we are immensely proud to support Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity in making Parkview Clinic a reality and creating a lasting legacy for young people in Birmingham and beyond.” - Ian Weatherby-Blythe, Managing Director of Castle Fine Art

Mind

One of the UK’s most exciting contemporary impressionists, Scarlett Raven, is recognised for her expressive colour palettes, bold textures, and immersive landscapes. However, in 2024 Scarlett released her collection Beyond the Surface in aid of mental health charity, Mind, which marked a dramatic and poignant shift.

Created during one of the most challenging periods in her life, these all-white floral compositions strip away colour to reveal in texture the artist’s raw emotion, vulnerability, and resilience. Each piece is a testament to the power of creativity in overcoming adversity, offering viewers an intimate glimpse into Scarlett’s world. Scarlett chose to donate 10% of the proceeds from each sale to Mind.

"Scarlett’s support will help us to continue to be there for the people who need us and ensure that no one faces a mental health problem alone.” – Imogen Topliss, Head of Philanthropy at Mind

Blue Cross

In 2021, we partnered with the pet charity Blue Cross to install four monumental ‘POPek’ balloon dog sculptures in and around Covent Garden Piazza.

During the outdoor exhibition, visitors were encouraged to share photos of the balloon dogs, created by artist Whatshisname, on social media using the hashtag #castle4bluecross. For every image posted, we donated £1 to Blue Cross.

Ryan Neile, Head of Animal Behaviour at Blue Cross said: “It’s vital to get to know signs that your dog is stressed or uncomfortable and equally, when they are happy. These delightful sculptures are great examples of the behaviours displayed when dogs are relaxed and want to interact with us or other dogs. We are so grateful for this support from Castle Fine Art, every penny really does help us to help pets in need.”

Birmingham Dogs Home

To celebrate the 130th birthday of Birmingham Dogs Home, we donated ‘Buddy’ – a show-stopping 14ft-tall ‘downward dog’ balloon sculpture by Whatshisname– to its headquarters in Solihull.

The team at Birmingham Dogs Home rescues, reunites, and rehomes around 2,500 dogs a year, helping to connect families with their new loved ones. We wanted to give Buddy his new forever home as a way of recognising the charity’s dedication to lost and homeless dogs across the Midlands.

The permanent sculpture features a QR code allowing visitors to make a donation to the charity and make a difference for lost and homeless dogs across the Midlands.

“Birmingham Dogs Home is honoured to receive this donation and to be able to give ‘Buddy’ a fur-ever home here. We hope he will bring lots of enjoyment to all our visitors and inspire more people to consider rehoming a dog.” - Giles Webber, Chief Executive at Birmingham Dogs Home

Birmingham Women's Hospital

Our ‘community corridor’ art installation at Birmingham Women’s Hospital is on display in their antenatal clinic. This specially curated selection of art is designed to promote a sense of hope and peace for all patients, visitors and staff.

Featuring Paul Corfield’s tranquil landscapes, Romero Britto’s vibrant pop art, Stephen Simpson’s stunning florals and many more of our favourite artworks, our aim is to improve the experience for all women, babies and families visiting the hospital.

Sarah-Jane Marsh, CEO of Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Fountain Trust said: “We’ve done a lot of research over the years, and art is such an important factor for many of the women that come into the organisation. We’re so pleased and proud that we’ve got our new fantastic artwork in the main corridor.”

The Big Cat Sanctuary

Two of our wildlife artists, Alfie Bowen and Robert Oxley collaborated on a limited-edition work, Baikal, in aid of The Big Cat Sanctuary.

The Sanctuary is a globally recognised centre dedicated to the conservation and rescue of wild cats. Bowen and Oxley met at the centre and fell in love with one of the sanctuary’s most popular residents, Baikal – a gorgeous white tiger – the inspiration behind the artwork. The signed limited edition combines Bowen’s stunning wildlife photography skills and Oxley’s signature kaleidoscopic colour. We donate £100 from every sale of ‘Baikal’ to The Big Cat Sanctuary.

Royal British Legion

In August 2014, ahead of the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War, we released 'Never Forgotten' by British miniature sculptor, Nic Joly.

The artist created this commemorative edition to honour the lives lost and sacrifices made, as well as raise funds for the Royal British Legion. To date, over £80,000 has been raised for the charity and the piece has touched the hearts of people around the world, with Nic receiving letters of thanks from as far afield as Canada, New Zealand and Japan.

In November 2018, to signify the end of the Great War, he released a follow-up, 'Golden Lives Never Forgotten'. The first ten artworks sold out within a record three hours, while the eleventh and final piece from the edition was auctioned to raise a further £3,200 for the Royal British Legion.

NHS Charities Together and The Murray Parish Trust

After watching unbelievable stories of courage on the news and speaking to NHS staff and key workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, Nic Joly was inspired to create ‘We Can Be Heroes’ – a touching studio edition artwork.

Featuring a heart-warming scene that showcases the compassion of healthcare staff, this handmade 3D wall sculpture carries the message 'Who Cares Wins', a play on the SAS motto 'Who Dares Wins'. With hand-sprayed lettering and Nic's signature miniature figures, this limited-edition artwork is available in an edition of 2020 to mark this historically significant year.

From the sale of each artwork, £50 goes to NHS Charities Together, the official national charity partner of the NHS, and £50 goes to The Murray Parish Trust, which is dedicated to the advancement of paediatric emergency medicine.
